Marvin was a family man, close to his sister LaChay and his parents. He was a fun uncle to his sister's children, whom he frequently picked up from school and and drove to practices. LaChay considered him not only a brother but her best friend.

Marvin was killed by correctional officers in McKinney, Texas, on March 14, 2021.
