RUMAIN BRISBON
1980 - 2014
Rumain graduated from Lincoln's Challenge Academy High School, south of Chicago. Determined to escape the crime of Chicago, he moved to Arizona, and took work in a telecommunications Center.
Rumain had four daughters, who remember their father fondly, taking them bowling, and leading impromptu dance parties in their apartment. He had a very close relationship with his mother Nora, who often helped with more "feminine" portions of raising daughters.
Rumain was shot in an altercation in which he confronted a man who had accosted his cousin, leaving him in the hospital for several weeks. After the injury, he lost his job but was determined to continue going to job interviews to provide for his family. He told his mother he'd like to go to barber school, and get a barber's license.
Rumain was killed by police in Phoenix, AZ in December 2014.
